The procedure governing the designation of each Host City
The Host City of each edition shall be a city of demonstrable significance to the history, craft or culture of lemonade.
Cities are nominated by the Office of the Awards in consultation with the Host Nation Committee. There is no application procedure.
Groningen was designated Host City of the inaugural edition by unanimous resolution.
The Committee noted, in particular, the city's association with Ranja and with the distilling tradition of Hooghoudt.
No other city was considered.
Designations for subsequent editions are deposited with the Archives and announced in due course.
